Curpigeon to Screen at the Moscow Jewish International Film Festival

Moscow, Russia, June 12, 2017 – Screening in-competition at the Moscow International Film Festival June 12 to June 20 is Dmitry Milkin’s film “Curpigeon”. On Sunday June 16 see the film at 17:00 at the Oktyabr Cinema (New Arbat Avenue, 24, Moscow)  followed by a panel discussion of short-films in cinema with Stephen Mao (Producer, “Filth”), David Schneiderov, and Konstantin Fam.

David Shneyderov is a known television and film critic, director, teacher board member of the Russian Guild of Film Critics, and an academician of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio. Costa Fam is a screenwriter, director and producer, creator of the international film project “Kinoalmanah Witnesses”, dedicated to the memory of the Holocaust victims and the winner of numerous Russian and international film awards.

Curpigeon is the heartwarming story about the power of community support during a time of grief, this action-oriented CG-animated short film centers around a group of park pigeons and their old men pals who come together to help one of their own get through a great loss. Curpigeon was producer by Sasha Yulaun, John Beach and Kristopher Di Giovanni and involved the creative talents of more than 150+ artists during a 4-year period.

Dmitry Milkin was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia. He immigrated to the US a year after the fall of communism, as a Jewish political refugee. Watching movies and cartoons helped him learn English and sparked his love for story. Like many immigrants in search of work, Dmitry’s family moved several times during his childhood, allowing him to become a new person at every school – fusing in him a sense of journey as a concept for character change. Dmitry graduated from Emerson College with a B.A in film. He moved to LA to work in the film industry for several years – including Warner Bros. Studios, CBS, Comedy Central and Disney.

Curpigeon screened at the Tribeca Film Festival 2017, Sonoma International Film Festival 2017 (WON), Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, The Garden State Film Festival 2017 (WON), and the Cucalorus Film Festival 2016
